On June 11, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with a delegation of Pakistani religious figures. The two sides had friendly and in-depth exchanges.
Liu Jinsong stated that President Xi Jinping once quoted an Urdu poem ahead of his visit to Pakistan, saying, “My friend’s lovely image dwells in the mirror of my heart; I tilt my head slightly, and here it comes into my sight.” The visit to Beijing and Xinjiang by Pakistani religious figures on the occasion of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s successful visit to China reflects the enthusiasm across all sectors of both countries in celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties. China stands ready to work with Pakistan to enhance exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Islamic civilizations, deepen practical cooperation and international coordination, and jointly build a China-Pakistan community with a shared future. Unity is strength. It is hoped that Pakistan’s religious circles will dedicate themselves to promoting unity between China and Pakistan, as well as between China and Muslim countries, thereby contributing positive energy to the development of bilateral relations and Pakistan’s own progress.
The Pakistani delegation spoke highly of the religious harmony, ethnic unity, and social stability in Xinjiang, expressing its willingness to actively contribute to the development of Pakistan-China relations and promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
